Security camera and recorder recycling for installers and businesses
We pick up old security cameras and recorders (DVRs and NVRs) from installers and businesses across the Phoenix metro. Recorder drives hold footage, so every one is wiped or destroyed, logged by serial number and listed on your data certificate.
For security camera installers
You remove old cameras and recorders at every upgrade. We pick them up, and we can set up regular scheduled pickups so old equipment from your jobs doesn't sit in your shop or truck.
For businesses replacing their systems
If your business is replacing an old CCTV system, we pick up the old cameras and recorders once they've been taken down. We pick up equipment that has already been removed; we don't take down mounted cameras or cabling.
What we pick up
- Security cameras
- Recorders (DVRs and NVRs)
- Networking gear
- Other small electronics
We also take computers, laptops and more. See free business electronics pickup for the full list.
NVR and DVR hard drive destruction
A recorder's hard drive holds the footage it recorded. We treat it like any other drive:
- Hard drives are overwritten following the NIST SP 800-88 "Clear" guideline, then verified.
- Drives that can't be wiped are physically destroyed: drilled, or sent to a shredding company, whose certificate we pass along.
- Memory cards found in cameras and recorders are removed and wiped or destroyed.
- Every drive is logged by serial number and listed on your data certificate.
Read more about how we wipe hard drives, or see a sample certificate.
Old CCTV system disposal: what happens to the rest
Cameras and recorders that still work are tested, wiped and refurbished for reuse. Everything else goes to a recycling partner, and you get a recycling certificate.
Pickup is free for most business loads. Loads that are mostly junk may have a fee.
